This is how we fight

Written by: Matthew Thomas

Show me a man with bruised knees and I’ll take him with me to battle any day. For this is the kind of man who is completely dependent on the Father. Who humbles himself before his Creator. Who seeks his wise counsel. Who draws strength from above. This is the kind of man who shakes the very gates of hell. Who is energized and invigorated with divine power. He does not flinch or give the enemy a foothold. He is diligent, consistent, and unyielding. He is faithful till the end. He is like his Savior who endured the cross and scorned its shame. In the heat of battle, he has veins of ice. In cold dark nights, he is inflamed with fire from the Holy Ghost!

To Those who Lack Power

It has always baffled me that the one discipline that guarantees strength, courage and power in the Christian life, is the one discipline that many choose to ignore. When divine power is made available to us, we choose to not get plugged in. When we are engaged in a heated battle against the challenges and hardships of life, we have the choice to be overcomers or to be overcome (Rev 12:11). The cross of Christ gave us the victory. The words that come out of our mouths enables us to make that victory our own. To claim the divine right that is rightfully ours.

When we are engaged in a heated battle against the challenges and hardships of life, we have the choice to be overcomers or to be overcome.

Prayer is power. Prayer is potent. Being bored in prayer is being bored with God. Being connected to the Creator is power for daily living. We dare not walk out of our homes without having come before our Saviour and savoring precious moments with him. For it is only through prayer that we can connect with the source of life in profound ways. It is only by prayer that we receive all we need to live a glorious life. It is only by prayer that the power made available to us is released into the very essence of our being. It is only by prayer that great victories are won and bitter defeats are accepted. It is only by prayer that we can truly come to know the One who has loved us with an everlasting love.

It is only by prayer that great victories are won and bitter defeats are accepted.

When we Pray

When we pray, our fears melt away. When we pray despondency dissipates, and we are filled with hope. When we pray the enemy trembles in his boots. When we pray we receive a revelation of God, insight that cannot be obtained otherwise. When we pray our hearts are humbled and our minds are sharpened. When we pray, we bank energy that will stand us in good stead through every trial.

God is moved by our prayers and our prayers move us. Charles Spurgeon once said, “Prayer moves the hand that moves the world”. It moves us into a space that only those who choose to enter in, can know the profundity of the experience. Prayer moves the heart of evil men to favour good men. Prayer can topple governments. Prayer shakes the whole earth. Pray moves mountains.

Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.

Spurgeon

Let us Pray

Let the church pray. Let the church come together and in one voice declare out loud the greatness of it’s King. Let the church unite in harmonious and spontaneous eruption of praise and song. Let the church lift up it’s voice to the King of Glory. To the King seated on his throne. To the one who was, who is, and who is to come.

When we come together in prayer, nothing can stop us. For we make our appeal to the one who can do all things. And we can do all things through him who gives us strength (Phil 4:13). Let us pray until we see our prayers answered. Let us pray until we can pray no more. Let us pray until the revelation of Jesus Christ. Let us pray because without it, we are weak, powerless, impotent and unable to carry our glorious mandate. Let us pray and grab hold of this glorious privilege that is only afforded to the sons and daughters of God. Those redeemed by his Son’s precious blood. Let us pray until we won’t have to anymore because we have now seen him face to face!
